Sunday English Service

Sunday Morning Meditation, Music, Mantra's and Prayers

1st 7 minutes
Opening Bell
With body, speech and mind in perfect oneness,
I send my heart along with the sound of this bell.

May the hearers awaken from forgetfulness,
and transcend the path of anxiety and sorrow.

I listen, I listen this wonderful sound
brings me back to my true home.

May the sound of this bell penetrated deeply into the cosmos,
in even the darkest places, living beings hear it clearly,
so that understanding lights up their hearts and without hardship,
they transcend the cycle of birth and death.

Listening to the bell,
I feel my afflictions begin to dissolve,
my mind becomes calm, my body relaxed,
and a smile is born upon my lips,
following the sound of the bell, my breath guides me back,
to the safe island of mindfulness.
In the garden of my heart, flowers of peace bloom in beauty.

The Universal Dharma Door is already open,
the sound of the rising tide is clear, and the miracle occurs,
a beautiful child is born in the heart of a lotus flower,
a single drop of this compassionate nectar,
is enough to bring back the spring to mountains and to rivers.

Morning Chant 2 - listen to this
Possible read the short version
The Bodhisattva of Compassion, Avalokiteshvara,
while practicing deeply the wisdom beyond wisdom,
clearly saw that all five skandhas are empty,
thus overcoming all suffering and distress.
Form is emptiness; emptiness is form.
Form is not separate from emptiness,
and emptiness is not separate from form.
Whatever is form is emptiness,
whatever is emptiness is form.
The same is true of feelings, perceptions, mental formations, and consciousness.
All dharmas are marked with emptiness;
they are neither born nor destroyed,
neither stained nor pure,
neither coming nor going.
Therefore, in emptiness there is no form,
no feeling, no perception,
no mental formation, no consciousness;
no eye, no ear, no nose, no tongue, no body, no mind;
no sight, no sound, no smell, no taste, no touch, no object of mind;
no realm of eyes and so forth until no realm of mind consciousness;
no ignorance and also no ending of ignorance, and so forth,
up to no aging and death, and no ending of aging and death.
There is no suffering, no origin of suffering,
no cessation of suffering, and no path;
no wisdom and no attainment.
With nothing to attain, the bodhisattva relies on
the wisdom beyond wisdom, and their mind is without hindrance.
Without hindrance, there is no fear.
Free from delusion, they dwell in perfect peace.
All Buddhas of past, present, and future
awaken to this supreme wisdom and attain full enlightenment.
Therefore, know that the Prajñāpāramitā
is the great bright mantra,
the supreme mantra,
the unsurpassed mantra,
the mantra that removes all suffering.

It is truth, not falsehood.
That is why we recite:
Gate gate pāragate pārasaṃgate bodhi svāhā.
(Gone, gone, gone beyond, gone altogether beyond, awakening, svaha!)
Maybe speak this one, or just drop it.
Keep this one Praising the Buddhas
Praise the Buddhas
The Buddha is like the fresh full moon
that soars across the immense sky,
when the river of mind is truly calm
the deep waters perfectly mirror the radiance of the moon.

The countenance of the World Honored One
like the full moon or the orb of the sun,
shines forth bright wisdom’s halo,
embracing all with love, compassion, joy and inclusiveness.

May the Way of the Buddha grow ever more bright
and all beings receive the Dharma rain,
May compassion cool the flames of world,
and wisdom shine through the clouds of confusion
revealing to all the path.

May Mother Earth be protected and safe,
May the people in the world be equal and free,
May the winds and the rains be in harmony,
May the land be at peace in all directions
and the people embrace the path.

May the Sangha practice diligently,
showing love and concern for one and all,
just as for our very own family,
transforming our hearts and minds
we aspire to follow all great beings.

With one heart we vow to practice
the way of all bodhisattvas, of Samantabhadra
and Avalokiteshvara, the way of perfected wisdom.
