Awakened Buddha

Picture
This statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, also know as Siddhartha Gautama, is of his awakening.  Mara, the embodiment of temptation, said to the Buddha after he was awakened, "There is no one to witness your awakening" The Buddha replied, "The earth is my witness, and he touched the ground, and the earth shook"    The Awakened Buddha, or Tathāgata, refers to Siddhartha Gautama after he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. His awakening marked the realization of the Four Noble Truths and the path to Nirvana, freeing him from suffering and the cycle of rebirth.
Characteristics of the Awakened Buddha
- Profound Wisdom: The Buddha perceives reality as it truly is, free from illusion.
- Compassion and Equanimity: He embodies boundless compassion for all beings while remaining unshaken by worldly concerns.
- Freedom from Attachments: Having transcended desires and ego, he exists in a state of pure awareness.
- Teacher of the Dharma: He dedicated his life to guiding others toward enlightenment through his teachings.
